Are you a military veteran who already loves to golf, or who’s looking to learn how to golf? If you are, then give DunMac Golf for Vets a shot!

DunMac Golf for Vets (DMGFV) is a Tax-Exempt Nonprofit 501(c)(3) Organization working in cooperation with the Minneapolis VA Health Care System as well as the Anoka/St. Paul Vet Centers and their Readjustment Counseling Specialists. The purpose of this organization is to promote a recreational wellness outreach program for U.S. military veterans, using the game of golf and its values to encourage veterans to make positive lifestyle choices and create a healthier way of life through fellowship with other veterans.

The goal for veterans who participate in DunMac Golf for Vets is not only to learn basic golf skills and find enjoyment in the game of golf but also, and more importantly, to learn the critical life skills of honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, courtesy, and judgment.

By allowing veterans to experience the game of golf, learn different aspects of the game, and meet other golfers, DunMac Golf for Vets hopes to give veterans a greater sense of community and an opportunity to connect with other veterans who are facing the same challenges in their daily lives.

The Vet Center Readjustment Counseling Specialists and the Victory Links Golf Course PGA Golf Professionals have seen many positive changes in the veterans who participate in DunMac Golf for Vets such as improved social skills, along with improved health and well being. Veterans often times come early to the golf course and stay late to continue to perfect new golf skills. The excitement that veterans show for DunMac Golf for Vets has been overwhelming.
